Prosus HVAC & Installations
In a cleanroom, negative pressure is used to keep the room as free from contamination as possible. The systems that create the negative pressure are designed to work with a specific amount of differential pressure across the filter. If this differential pressure is exceeded, it can lead to:
1 Loss of containment and contaminated air leakage into the cleanroom - which could result in an expensive cleanup or even litigation if someone falls ill or gets injured because of contamination exposure. Stop leak could be required for such leaks since stop leak products developed for typical duct/plenum systems will not seal around sheet metal penetrations like those commonly found in HVAC installations.
2 Installation issues – filters that are too large could be installed to compensate for the loss of differential pressure. If filters are too large, they load up and can cause negative pressure to drop further, thus creating a worse situation than before.
3 Dirty air recirculation – if, during high negative pressure, the air is being pulled into the HVAC unit from around the blower compartment rather than from outside of the cleanroom, it means that your return ducts need attention. No-clean HVAC installations must have clean boost systems installed where dirty ground makeup air is transferred through a filter bank prior to entering any room or area inside of a facility.
At Prosus HVAC & Installations, we understand the importance of maintaining a clean room, and we work closely with our customers to make sure that their ac installation is done correctly.
